My best friend and mother of my second goddaughter gave me a stunning silver seahorse necklace that she'd bought when she was working in Hong Kong. The head is shaped like a real horse - with a tightly curled seahorse tail. It's very unusual. Barely a day goes by when I don't wear it.
My husband and I have matching seahorse bracelets that I made for us - they represent our marriage and our family and our journey together. I chose the semi-precious stone beads that make up the bulk of the bracelets very carefully so that their properties would be meaningful and significant to both of us.
When I was 12 my mother bought me a silver charm bracelet that I have added to over the years - every charm has marked a significant event or period of my life. And of course there is a seahorse charm on there! It took me a while to find one that I liked. I'm quite picky about which charms I put on my bracelet - even though I'm almost running out of room now!
The exquisite necklace pictured above is made by Jennifer Fenner of Virtu Designs in Florida. She carved the piece from jade!
